Courchevel Village (1550) is just below Courchevel 1850, and Courchevel 1650. Slightly lower down the mountain, it has a great village feel to it, whilst still being very accessible. If you’ve stayed in Courchevel before and want to stay somewhere new, or have never stayed in the valley before, here are our top reasons to choose Courchevel 1550:
It feels a lot more quaint and less purpose built than other parts of Courchevel. It is filled with lovely chalets, some shops, and great restaurants. The high street includes a number of ski hire shops, a gift shop, tourist office, and they hold a food and clothing market every Tuesday. It is slightly further away from the centre, which means it is a little quieter, away from the bars and nightclubs. Since it’s lower down the mountain, you can get a far larger chalet for much better value. So, it’s perfect for families!
If you fancy something a little livelier, there are a few bars in the village with live music on offer. It is also well connected by the very frequent and free bus service to the higher parts of the Courchevel valley as well as Le Praz and La Tania. It is right next to the newly-built Aquamotion centre which has a swimming pool, aqua park, spa, indoor surfing and climbing as well as restaurants to explore!
Whilst being slightly further down the mountain, it still has great access to the slopes. There’s only one lift to take you straight into the centre of Courchevel 1850, and gentle blue slopes to ski back down to Courchevel 1550. So, if you’re a beginner skier, don’t be put off from staying further away from the nursery slopes in 1850. Or, if you don’t fancy skiing, you can easily get the gondola back down from 1850 to 1550 after a hard day of skiing.

Top non-skiing activity: Aquamotion which is only a short walk or bus journey away.
Our favourite run: Proveres, a winding gentle blue run through the trees back to the centre of 1550.
