Different rental options available to property owners in Courchevel

Whether you have owned your property for a long time or a new owner. It can be difficult to make the right decision about how to rent your property. There are many benefits to renting your property in Courchevel and the best way to maximise them will depend on your preferences.
 
The main things to consider are how often you want to use your property yourself and your attitude towards risk.
 
Most people buy a ski property because they love the Courchevel mountains and want to spend more time here. If you want to use your property, renting it for a season isn’t an option. Therefore your only option is to rent on a weekly basis.
 
During a good winter and if you market your property well at the right price levels your returns will outperform the rate you will achieve seasonally. However, this is riskier as there are no guarantees.
 
Renting your property on a seasonal basis is a good option for owners that don’t want to use their property. Previously there would have been a long queue of tour operators looking to rent your property however, the market has changed. The combination of Brexit and Covid-19 has been deadly for tour operators and they aren’t willing to rent the way they used to.
 
Most tour operators are looking to operate on a profit sharing basis with property owners. This means that, like weekly rentals,in a good season you can expect to make great returns however, in a poor season returns could be poor.
 
If you are risk averse and you don’t want to use your chalet or apartment much, then a seasonal rental is a good option if you can find an operator. If you are happy to accept a little risk then weekly increases your potential returns. Also, if a week doesn’t sell you can use it yourself!
